Ruled by the Mob: under attack by the Left (call it new civility)

NRO: "Defending Bloggers from Attacks, Intimidation, and Frivolous Lawsuits"

Here in the Corner, Jonathan Adler has been ably covering a series of new and particularly pernicious attacks on bloggers’ free speech. For those who haven’t been following the story, roughly three weeks ago a number of conservative bloggers (both independent and affiliated with larger publications) began investigating the story of Brett Kimberlin, a radical domestic terrorist who’s been funded by several prominent leftist donors. As the investigation gained momentum, Red State’s Erick Erickson was subjected to a “SWAT” attack, where a fake call is made to local police reporting a shooting at the blogger’s home. Erick is not the first blogger to experience a SWAT-ing. (...) >>>

  MJFellWritesBlog: "Shocking Similarities Concealed"

(...) Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, barack obama and many other “progressive”politicians have called the Tea Party “teabaggers”, “racists”, “astroturf”, “Nazis” ” and “extremists” on multiple occasions. The Department of Homeland Security issued a report that described the Tea Party as “right-wing extremists” and”insurgents”, expressing concerns that “Right-wing extremists will attempt to recruit and radicalize veterans in order to boost their violent capacities.”

“Violent capacities”? How much longer will it be before members of Tea Parties are called “paid killers”? Hasn’t that already happened? Such a description was more than quite heavily inferred by multiple “progressive” politicians and virtually every member of the “progressive” Party Pravda after a nut job who was working solo shot Arizona Rep. Zerohedge: "Believe In A Return To The Gold Standard? You Are Now Officially An Extremist According To The FBI"

Just when we thought the US could not sink any further in its usurpation of civil rights, here comes the FBI to advise all those who tend to think that the broken economic model of the past century is the cause for the global insolvency, that wanton fiat diluation and reckless debt issuance does not 'fix' the problem of uber-leverage, and that the gold standard is the proper way to return to monetary stability, will henceforth be considered extremists. From Reuters: "Anti-government extremists opposed to taxes and regulations pose a growing threat to local law enforcement officers in the United States, the FBI warned on Monday. These extremists, sometimes known as "sovereign citizens," believe they can live outside any type of government authority, FBI agents said at a news conference." And the most epic line ever written: "The extremists may refuse to pay taxes, defy government environmental regulations and believe the United States went bankrupt by going off the gold standard." Former Speaker Nancy Pelosi told reporters this weekend that she plans on releasing dirt on Newt Gingrich… “When the time is right.” The Hill reported: House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) is holding back some information on Republican Newt Gingrich that could detract from his presidential campaign, according to a report published Monday.

Fellowship of the Minds: "Mom of Murdered Obama Gay Lover Speaks Up"

In late May, Wash. DC-based investigative journalist Wayne Madsen had a bombshell revelation about Obama’s membership in a Chicago gay club, Man’s Country. Madsen also reported on Obama’s sexual relationships with other men, including named D.C. politicians and Donald Young, the openly-gay choir-director of the church in Chicago of which Obama was a member for some 20 years — Jeremy Wright’s Trinity United Church of Christ black liberation theology. Obama’s relationship with Young was confirmed by Larry Sinclair, who claims to have had two sex-cocaine trysts with Obama.

There were two other openly gay men in Wright’s church: Larry Bland and Nate Spencer. In late 2007, as Obama began his ascent to be the Democratic Party’s presidential nominee, in a span of 1½ months, all three men “conveniently” died:

- Bland was murdered execution-style on November 17, 2007;
- Young was murdered execution-style on December 24, 2007;
- Spencer reportedly died of septicemia, pneumonia, and HIV on December 26, 2007. (Death certificates of Bland and Young, HERE.)

Now, Young’s elderly mother is speaking out about her suspicions that her son was murdered to protect Obama’s reputation and assure his political future as President. (...) >>>

Obama, the 'organizer' -

Big Govt: "Barack Obama Led #OccupyChicago – Circa 1988", by Joel B. Pollak

Just twenty or so years ago, Barack Obama wouldn’t just have supported the Occupy protests.
He would have organized them. From Stanley Kurtz’s essential Radical-in-Chief: Barack Obama and the Untold Story of American Socialism, pp. 117-8:
In fact, Obama personally helped plan one of UNO’s most confrontational actions of the eighties [in 1988]: a break-in meant to intimidate a coalition of local business and neighborhood leaders into dropping a landfill expansion deal. We know of Obama’s involvement in this demonstration only because his supporters in 2008 felt it necessary to rebut charges that, contrary to his claims of inter-racial healing, he had organized exclusively with blacks. Only then did Obama’s former colleagues from UNO [United Neighborhood Organization, a largely Mexican group] of Chicago reveal that he had helped to plan and lead this multi-ethnic demonstration against landfill expansion on Chicago’s South Side. Archbishop Dolan declares war on the Great Zero -

The Archbishop means business! Read it all in order to believe what he's written the Obama! A sample -
Our federal government should not be presuming ill intent or moral blindness on the part of the overwhelming majority of its citizens, millions of whom have gone to the polls to directly support DOMAs in their states and have thereby endorsed marriage as the union of man and woman. Nor should a policy disagreement over the meaning of marriage be treated by federal officials as a federal offense—but this will happen if the Justice Department‟s latest constitutional theory prevails in court.

Mundabor's Blog: "DOMA: Dolan’s Ultimatum to Obama" - Hat Tip @HelenaJacobs

(...) I must say that the criticism most certainly does not apply to the letter the Archbishop has written to the President. The tones are so strong that I do not recall having heard such a strong rebuke of a President of the United States not only from archbishop Dolan, but from any American bishop in recent times.

It seems to me that this is a very strong warning; nay, an ultimatum. If Obama doesn’t backpedal on his anti-marriage (anti-Christian, anti-decency) policy, what awaits him is nothing less than an all-out confrontation. (...) >>>

Obama proliferating organizers -

LATimesBlogs: "Obama recruits an army of community organizers to carry his 'movement forward for years to come'"

The community organizer who became president has launched a massive pre-reelection year campaign to assemble and train an army of new community organizers to carry Obama's "movement forward for years to come." Strengthening "our democracy" presumably has something to do with reelecting the revered leader in 2012.

However, the recruiting message says nothing about politics or election campaigns and strangely talks in military terms of "a grassroots program that aims to put boots on the ground and help foster a new generation of leaders -- not just to help win elections but to strengthen our democracy in communities across the country."

The message about what it calls the "Summer Organizing Fellowship" adds: "Effective organizing doesn't happen in a vacuum. It takes commitment, time, and hard work to build a movement around a cause." It does not specify what the "cause" is, other than promoting Obama and his agenda. (...) >>>

The Blaze has a exclusive video of "international anarchists, socialists and Marxists (not average union workers) have a substance-fuled rave while taking over Wisconsin state capitol" -

Liberty's Lifeline: "The Battle of Wisconsin"

It seemed an unlikely place. But then so was Gettysburg. If you asked anyone at about the time the Tea Party started if Wisconsin would be a major battleground, I don’t think they would have agreed. But in the last few days, a new Republican governor has taken on the public unions and they have fought back with a vengeance. It is a battle they can little afford to lose.

Wisconsin is facing a budget shortfall this year of $137 million for the current fiscal year and $3.6 billion for next year. Like many states around the country, and the federal government too, there is no time for small steps. The governor wants the public sector unions to pay more for their retirement and medical care and he also wants to end collective bargaining on anything but wages, and those to be increased no more than the Consumer Price Index. In return there will be no layoffs. The battle lines were drawn. (...) >>>

Wbay: "Tea Party Groups Organize Counter-protest to Support Bill: Updated"

Tea party groups will descend on the Capitol on Saturday to rally in support of Governor Walker's budget repair bill. Organizers say it's time the other side of the story is heard at the Capitol, which is why they're headed there Saturday to throw their support behind the governor.

"You can no longer get a free ride. I think that is a very reasonable solution that is being presented. If this is union busting, I think a lot of other people are surprised by that term being used," Drew Ryan of American Majority said.

Reason Magazine: "Is This How a President Should Act?", Matt Welch

The president's political machine worked in close coordination Thursday with state and national union officials to mobilize thousands of protesters to gather in Madison and to plan similar demonstrations in other state capitals.

Their efforts began to spread, as thousands of labor supporters turned out for a hearing in Columbus, Ohio, to protest a measure from Gov. John Kasich (R) that would cut collective-bargaining rights.

By the end of the day, Democratic Party officials were working to organize additional demonstrations in Ohio and Indiana, where an effort is underway to trim benefits for public workers. Some union activists predicted similar protests in Missouri, New Jersey and Pennsylvania. [...]

The politics of personal destruction -

The Dems wouldn't be the Dems if they wouldn't embark on a campaign of personal destruction to thwart his investigations. They are out to destroy Issa personally. Rep. Darrell Issa is aiming to launch investigations on everything from WikiLeaks to Fannie Mae to corruption in Afghanistan in the first few months of what promises to be a high-profile chairmanship of the top oversight committee in Congress.

CIA digging up dirt on climate skeptics -

Free Republic: "Inhofe: WikiLeaks climate revelations show Obama’s ‘desperation’ (covert CIA programs)"

The revelation that the Obama administration used a covert CIA program to dig up dirt on countries opposed to the Copenhagen climate treaty shows a White House desperate to enforce its orthodoxy on global warming, Oklahoma Republican Sen. James Inhofe told The Daily Caller.

Earlier this month, The Guardian newspaper reported that State Department administration officials, acting at the request of the CIA, sent a secret cable on July 31, 2009, asking U.S. diplomats to gather intelligence on other countries’ preparations for the then-pending Copenhagen climate conference. The request also asked diplomats to be on the lookout for indications that countries were not fostering environmental cooperation and for evidence of countries circumventing U.N.-sponsored environmental treaties.

The cables do not make clear whether CIA Director Leon Panetta was directly involved in the request. Panetta has a long, documented history of environmental activism, particularly on climate change, going back several decades… (...) >>>

SoroS funding antiglobalist thugs? -

This item about SoroS contains a gem that should be well noted ... [SoroS] has had a long running role behind the scenes at the United Nations, and recently upped his game and visibility by "serving" on a United Nations Panel that urged a global Climate Change Tax to fund green energy schemes (he plans to invest one billion dollars-to start- in renewable energy ventures and thus would be a beneficiary of the subsidies and governmental rules that these grossly inefficient ventures need to prosper). See the Greenism file on this subject (entry Nov. 5, 2010: Red Global Warming Alert!) -

American Thinker: "US Chamber targeting George Soros?"

It looks like George Soros will be the target of investigations on his role as a behind the scenes funder. From the current issue of Business Week magazine's cover story on Tom Donohue, head of the US Chamber of Commerce (titled, " Tom Donohue: Obama's Tormenter") comes this snippet:
Donohue announced that the Chamber had been digging into the funding sources of anti-globalization groups that might try to thwart their efforts overseas. "We found that 50 or 60 percent of their money comes from the same person," Donohue said dramatically. He wasn't ready to name names just yet. Instead, he acted like a man with a hand grenade in his pocket who couldn't wait to hurl it. "It's going to be a story," the chamber leader promised. The people sitting around the table seemed baffled. (Later, when asked if he was referring to George Soros, Donohue laughed and said, "That's a pretty good guess.")
I would surmise that the Chamber will be releasing a report soon with their information about George Soros. (...) >>>

The modus operandi -

The Vincenton Post: "Marxism in America"

In this video titled “Marxism in America”, General Jerry Boykin talks about his background and training in understanding Marxist insurgencies and how this parallels current government actions.

Boykin said he studied Marxist insurgency, which was part of his military training, saying that the things he knows “that have been done in Marxist insurgency are being done in America today.” He then compared the rise of Fidel Castro in Cuba to the nationalization of major companies of the American economy by the Obama administration. “Folks, that’s what the bailouts were. Nationalizing major sectors of the economy,” he said.

“The second thing they’ve done is that they redistributed wealth,” said the General. He mentioned about Medicaid, Medicare and the ObamaCare, which are being used to redistribute wealth in America. “Health care is nothing but a redistribution of wealth,” he said.

“The third thing they do is that they discredit the opposition,” Boykin said. He then mentioned about the Department of Homeland Security memorandum that went around the law enforcement all over the country. The memorandum states that the future threats to America are “right-wing Christian groups, pro-life groups, Second Amendment groups, and returning veterans.” (...)

“The fourth thing that have been done in the model is censorship,” Boykin said. A proposal has been made to censor the Internet and control online activities. Under a new bill titled “Protecting Cyberspace as a National Asset Act”, US President Barack Obama would be granted powers to seize control of and even shut down the internet. (...)

Boykin also said that the U.S. media are controlled by liberal elites who set political agenda and who protect the Obama administration from public criticisms. (...) As George Will correctly asserted in January 2001: “There is no reasonable doubt that he committed and suborned perjury, tampered with witnesses and otherwise obstructed justice.” Additionally, credible allegations surfaced that, as Will noted, made it “reasonable to believe that he was a rapist 15 years before becoming president.” The failure of the United States Senate to remove Bill Clinton from office was a landmark defeat for the rule of law. The “Democracy Is Strengthened by Casting Light on Spending in Elections Act” (H.R. 5175) was approved in the House Administration Committee on May 20 on a party-line vote. In addition to the fact that it is filled with onerous, burdensome, and unnecessary provisions, it is extremely tilted against corporations in favor of unions. Via ColdWarrior at Red State, the whole clip’s worth watching but skip ahead to three minutes in for the money bit. Of course The One won’t do anything about the border until he gets some political cover from Congress on amnesty; his party wants to build a heavy Democratic majority among Latinos long-term and he’s not going to mess that up. What’s stunning is simply the fact that he’d be so candid, to a member of the opposition no less, in admitting his dereliction of duty. TeaParty Derangement Syndrome alert -

Weekend Pundit: "Tea Party Derangement Syndrome Is Spreading"

(...) Union members seem to be the ones most often committing acts of violence against tea party activists. But it isn't limited to just union thugs. It seems to affect Congressmen, too.
On Thursday, April 8th, 2010, Congressman Alan Grayson, Democrat in Florida's 8th district, interrupted a district meeting of the local Orange County Republican Executive Committee. The meeting was being held at Perkins, a family restaurant.
Matthew Falconer, candidate for Orange County Mayor, quickly challenged Alan's rudeness. Grayson demanded not to be interrupted, but Falconer quickly reminded the congressman that he is in fact interrupting their meeting.
Grayson threatened Falconer by saying that he'll spend thousands of dollars making sure he doesn't get elected. Question: Is it legal or at least unethical for a sitting congressman to threaten to influence a local election? Why is Matt Falconer, running for local Mayor, even on the radar of Alan Grayson?
The answer: TPDS. American Thinker: "Obama's Nazi Straw man: An Old Alinsky Trick", by Kyle-Anne Shiver

When I saw this video interview of Bill Burton, White House Deputy Press Secretary, I could not help but be reminded of one of old Saul Alinsky's favorite fake-em-out tricks of the revolutionary trade. Burton is reinforcing Pelosi's earlier claim that people were carrying Swastikas at town halls, but goes even further and claims that folks are actually "dressing up like Hitler." (...) Covering for oneself by accusing the other fellow has been the left's most successful deception for decades now. It took on its best traction lately, as leftists within Moveon.org and others have used this Nazi smear tactic for the past eight years against George W. Bush. They've seen how well it's worked and just can't stop themselves now.

Here's a little hint from me on the Nazi card. If a few folks actually do start showing up at town halls, opposing the MediCoup*, even dressed like Hitler and carrying a Swastika poster, I'll lay good hard cash on a bet that they've been sent by this Alinskyite President or his minions to deceive, just as Saul did with getting students to dress like the KKK at that rally back in the 70s. And any newsman worth an ounce of table salt ought to be able to pin the tail right on that Alinsky donkey. >>>

*MediCoup is a term coined by writer, James Lewis, right here on American Thinker.

The political wise guy -

IBD: "The Mao The Merrier"

Anita Dunn may be leaving with her little red book, but her husband enters as the next White House counsel, bringing experience in suppressing dissent, assaulting the First Amendment and limiting speech. Dunn, whose favorite philosophers include mass murderer Mao Zedong, was expected to leave after a short stint. (...)

Dunn's husband, Bob Bauer, is a politically connected attorney who has gone from being general counsel of the 2008 Democratic presidential campaign to serving as general counsel of the Democratic National Committee. He is also the top lawyer at Organizing for America, the rechristened version of the president's campaign vehicle.

He replaces Greg Craig, who was ousted because of frustration among senior White House aides over his handling of the plans to close the prison at Guantanamo. Not many people know Bob Bauer, but defenders of democracy and free speech know of his antipathy toward political opposition and desire to suppress it.

Bauer was an integral part of the attempt in the 2008 campaign to silence opposition groups and suppress their ads questioning his candidate's past associations and positions on issues such as gun control. When the National Rifle Association ran ads attacking his candidate's position on gun rights, campaign general counsel Bauer wrote "cease and desist" letters to stations (...) >>>

One set of Sunday talk shows later on how to delegitimize "the opponent":

Real Clear Politics: "Media Wars: White House Crosses the Line", by Tom Bevan

(...) not since Nixon conjured up an "enemies list" have we seen the full weight of the Office of the Presidency brought to bear in such a targeted and deliberate effort to delegitimize a media organization critical of the President. (...) Axelrod went out of his way to suggest to Stephanopoulos that ABC News adopt the White House strategy and not treat FOX News as legitimate. "The bigger thing is," Axelrod said, "other news organizations, like yours, ought not to treat them that way. We're not going to treat them that way. "

Emanuel suggested the same to John King later in their interview: "And more importantly is not have the CNN's and others in the world basically be led and following FOX, as if what they're trying to do is a legitimate news organization, in the sense of both sides and a sense of valued opinion." It's actually quite brazen when you think about it. (...) the White House's strategy may be the Chicago way, but it isn't the American way. >>>

American Thinker: "White House, Dems reject Price Waterhouse study", Rick Moran

Unless you want to believe that one of the most prestigious accounting firms in the country is cooking the books for political purposes, the Price Waterhouse study released yesterday that shows a shattering increase in health insurance premiums for families over the next decade under Obamacare spells huge trouble for the Democrats.

The American Spectator: "ACORN Founder Wade Rathke Wanted Terrorist Attack on Republican Convention to Succeed", by Matthew Vadum

ACORN founder Wade Rathke didn't have a problem with domestic terrorists trying to kill delegates at the Republican Party's national convention in 2008, former radical community organizer Brandon Darby suggests at Andrew Breitbart's new website Big Government.
Darby, who got to see how the ACORN crime syndicate operates up close in New Orleans, writes that after he acknowledged that he helped the FBI foil a plot to attack the RNC convention in Minnesota Rathke denounced him on his blog. Darby writes:

What does any of this have to do with ACORN? I wondered the same thing on January 31st of 2009 when I was reading an ACORN blog that is run by Wade Rathke (the man who claims credit for founding ACORN). He devoted an entire page to my work with the FBI. How did he describe the FBI's effort and success in preventing innocent Americans, local police and federal agents from being burned, maimed and/or possibly killed by firebombs? He wrote that it's "one thing to disagree, but it's a whole different thing to rat on folks." That is what ACORN's founder had to say about my role in stopping a bomb plot. Indeed Rathke did write that. (...) >>>

Examiner: "Explosive! Gag order on medicare cuts"

Outraged that the federal government placed a gag order on healthcare companies concerning cuts in Medicare, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell took to the floor of the Senate to condemn this muzzling of free speech and to demand that the gag order be lifted. The entire YouTube video of McConnell's words on the Senate floor can be viewed by clicking here.

Canadia Free Press: "Union Labor Head as Czar of All U. S. Industries? – INCREDIBLE!"

(...) The latest example of this rule of fear and suppression was announced on August 24, 2009 by the National Right To Work Legal Defense Foundation, Inc. that Ron Bloom, former United Steelworkers Union executive, who was appointed by Obama as his “car czar” some months ago, will soon be named to oversee ALL of America’s manufacturing. How’s that for stacking the deck against American workers and consumers?

If you were nervous about corrupt and dangerous big union labor bosses running roughshod over the everyday workers and those of us who have to pay the freight for all manufactured materials in the past, you can quintuple your worries now that Obama has a bona fide, legitimate, illegitimate lackey to break knees and fingers of all non-complying workers in ALL places of manufacturing employment. Obama promised the suck-up unions that poured millions of dollars of workers dues into his campaign that he would repay them; and he did it brazenly and publicly. This is just one more step to make complete the takeover of our country a fait accompli or in labor union thug language, ‘a dun deel’. (...) >>>

Of Astroturf and Swastikas: parallel to the White House's fishy stuff and Linda Douglass's attempt to turn the US into the German Democratic Republic runs Ms Pelosi disingenuously portraying "tea baggers" and health care reform protestors as paid brown shirts in the service of big stake-holder corporations i.e. of being "astroturfers". Update: The White House's totalitarian reflexes are triggering open revolt. They'll find it's not that easy to psychologically suspend Americans' constitutional rights. The US ain't Venezuela yet! Beltway Confidential looks at the legal implications of the WH keeping fishy records on private citizens.

FoxNews: "Go Ahead and Report Me -- I'll Shout Louder"

(...) Last I checked I had the constitutional right to do so. But now he wishes to turn one citizen against another? At dozens of the town hall meetings taking place back in individual districts this month, numbers of reports have surfaced that ACORN members have taken to publicly berating normal citizens who are simply there to ask the questions they have about the viability of a plan that requires the government to spend an additional $1,000,000,000 dollars. They wonder this especially when 85% of people in America are satisfied and content with the health insurance system they've already chosen to engage.

So what's the answer to good old fashioned grass roots voters actually being engaged with their representatives in Congress while they're home during the August break? The White House believes it's best to intimidate and silence, or at the bare minimum -- report. The mistake this White House continues to make, seemingly on a daily basis, is that they reveal very much what they truly think of freedoms of the American political process. Being generous, we can conclude it's not a very high opinion. When President George W. Bush was being stalked by Cindy Sheehan and Code Pink on a daily basis (...) >>>

Aug. 5, 2009

The veil is lifting. They've been at this from the get go and there's no apparent awareness what they're doing smacks of mobsters and 'regimes'. Mark what's happening here: a reversal of truth: critics are denialists who evade 'facts' and 'reality'; vilification: critics use scare tactics and breathlessly spread lies that percolate on the Internet; these lies need stamping out, but it's so pervasive that we can't do it all by ourselves. Loyalists must gather in the moral cause: flag it if something smells unethical or socially undesirable (like, dissent = lies) ... (I suppose no one needs a reminder that one of the most prominent features of life in the totalitarian collective is people (and family) spying and reporting on each other. In East Germany - you know, the former German Democratic Republic - they're still working on that trauma. Let's pose the question one more time: evil, or stupid?

Freedom Torch: "WHITE HOUSE WANTS YOU TO REPORT PEOPLE WHO OPPOSE OBAMA"

The Daily Beast: "Geithner Blows His Lid"

Is it no more mister nice guy for Timothy Geithner? The Treasury secretary “blasted top U.S. financial regulators in an expletive-laced critique last Friday as frustration grows over the Obama administration's faltering plan to overhaul U.S. financial regulation,” according to The Wall Street Journal. According to one person at the meeting—which included Ben Bernanke, SEC Chairwoman Mary Schapiro, and FDIC Chairwoman Sheila Blair—the gist of Geithner’s rant was that “enough is enough.” He apparently targeted those who argued the Federal Reserve should not be given more regulatory power. According to the Journal, “Friday's roughly hourlong meeting was described as unusual, not only because of Mr. Geithner's repeated use of obscenities, but because of the aggressive posture he took with officials from federal agencies generally considered independent of the White House.” (...) >>>

Townhall: "The Chicago Way", by Wayne Winegarden

You wanna know how to get Capone? They pull a knife, you pull a gun. He sends one of yours to the hospital, you send one of his to the morgue. That's the Chicago way! And that's how you get Capone. Now do you want to do that? -Jim Malone (Sean Connery), “The Untouchables”

President Obama is certainly taking Jim Malone’s advice when it comes to his spending programs. John Kyl (R-Arizona) has rightfully acknowledged that the stimulus plan is not stimulating the economy. (...) In fact, it creates real and significant economic damage. (...) However, the crime of opposing the administration’s stimulus program (metaphorically pulling a knife against the administration) apparently has costs. The “gun” the Obama Administration has pulled is a thinly veiled threat against Governor Brewer of Arizona. As far as weapons go, the IRS is the most powerful weapon of all – a lesson Al Capone learned too late.

According to the administration, if Arizonans agrees with Senator Kyl that the stimulus bill is not stimulating their economy, the Obama Administration would happily have the millions of dollars the state is receiving this year in stimulus funds sent back to the IRS. It is troubling to see the administration threatening the viability of our federalist system. The Arizona example shows that if a state or its representative offends or disagrees with the administration, then the offenders, and all of the offender’s associates, risk the beneficence of the Obama Administration. And the Senator Kyl case is not unique.

The Obama administration has also threatened California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger with lost stimulus funds if he went through with proposed spending cuts that were desperately needed but would have hurt a favored Obama constituency – labor unions. Eric Cantor (R-VA) has also been criticizing the stimulus package and has caught the attention of the president’s Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel – a thinly veiled threat may now be on its way to Richmond Virginia as well.

Equally troubling is the administration’s view that taxpayer dollars belong to them. (...) Stimulus money is not magically created in Washington D.C. All government funds must first be taxed or borrowed from citizens across the country before it can be spent. Therefore, when the Obama Administration threatens Arizonans that the administration can take back stimulus dollars if they agree with Senator Kyl, what the administration is really saying is that unless your actions (or the actions of your duly elected representatives) meet our approval, we will not send back the appropriate share of the money that we have already taken from you in the first place. (...) The U.S. economy will not return to health under duress. The Chicago Way might be effective at catching Al Capone. It is counterproductive when it comes to creating a vibrant fast growing economy. >>>
