... we ignore it at our peril. Marx was on to something very powerful when he systemized his dialectic of  oppressors versus oppressed. I stumbled upon this victimhood theme and the Sorelian myth it can potentially morph into, watching an early speech by Adolf Hitler in the 1930s. Perceived victimhood is a powerful motivation for terrorism, war, coersion, revolution, tyranny, mass murder, ethnic cleansing, cannibalism, (need I go on?). After the proletarian classes and the German Volk, we now have the oppressed religion of peace:

AFP: "Muslims in fresh Athens demo over alleged Koran insult"

More than 1,000 Muslim migrants and leftists demonstrated in Athens Friday over an alleged police insult to the Koran, a week after two similar protests degenerated into clashes with anti-riot police.The protest was called by leftist and anti-racist groups after a police officer allegedly tore up some sheets of paper with extracts from the Muslim holy book belonging to an Iraqi migrant during an identity check last week. "We want this officer put on trial, and we ask the government to protect our prayer sites in Athens," said Zuri, a Moroccan protester.

(...) Greece's main Muslim and migrant organisations distanced themselves from the migrant demonstration, preferring to take judicial action instead. "Our problems can be solved by dialogue, not demonstrations," said Ahmet Moavia, head of the Greek Migrants' Forum. "The real agenda is migrants' rights in Greece which include issues of religion," he told AFP. The PDF article on the RIEAS site concludes by posing the question if Greece will rise to the occusion and defeat the inevitable “next phase”. The author is not optimistic. We share his feelings, because policies dealing with the fall out of multiculturalism in EU member countries are not a matter of national sovereignty - Greece on it's own would know how to deal with it. But there's the shared decision in the EU to apply appeasement and social cocooning:

German paper Bild today is reporting that the annual report for the Protection of the Constitution issued by Interor Minister Schauble has revealed that groups like Turkish nationalist 'Milli Görüs' want to establish Sharia law in Germany. This was only to be expected. It is part and parcel of "The Project". Sharia Courts already exist in the UK. The result will be a state of Apartheid pending completion of the subjugation process. Most Europeans are still very much in denial over this and choose either to appease or to ignore it, as if it were a passing teenage fad. Read that in the light of yesterday's post on Mafioso Politico (underneath):

PJM: "The Three Types of Jihadists", by Ryan Mauro

Perhaps the greatest mistake the West makes is equating the war on terror with the war on al-Qaeda, as if someone trying to help Sharia law replace democratic freedom must follow the standard set by bin Laden in order to be defined as an “extremist.” When extremists condemn bin Laden and 9/11, there will always be some voice in the West eager to embrace them as the moderate counter to Islamic extremism, whether that be the Muslim Brotherhood, the Islamic Courts Union of Somalia, or governments like Saudi Arabia and Iran.

A recent analysis by the Middle East Media Research Institute of the harsh criticism of Ayman al-Zawahiri by Dr. al-Fadl, his former spiritual mentor, shows that there are three types of jihadists, differing on strategy and details, but sharing the same end goal. The failure of the West to see these distinctions will lead to erred policy and strategy, forcing our grandchildren to fight a war that should be won on our watch. (...)

The tendency of the West to look for any sign of rationality, open-mindedness, or humanity in radicals results in a remarkably low standard for which one can be designated a “moderate.” The effect of such psychology, which often emanates from an outlook influenced by moral relativism, will be to embrace extremists at the expense of true moderates, resulting in a longer, and far more costly, war against radical Islam. The price to pay to become labeled a moderate by the West — namely, to be marginally less reckless and extreme in tactics than al-Qaeda — is quite the bargain, as such a strategy is more beneficial to their jihad in the long run anyway.
